What is realism?
Is a movement of art , it started in the mid nineteenth century in France, and later spread to the entire world. Its real objective was to root out what is called fantastic and romantic in literature and art.

What is the function of realism?
Attempts to illustrate life without romantic subjectivity and idealization. It focuses on the actualities of life and truthfully treats the common characters of everyday life. The purpose of using it is to emphasize the reality and morality that is usually relativistic (accurately described only by the theory of relativity.) and intrinsic (belonging naturally) for the people as well as the society.
Associated with an analytical approach to the function of buildings, a strictly rational use of (often new) materials, an openness to structural innovation and the elimination of ornament.

Look for pictures of the ocean.
Look for abstract imaginative art that depicts something that others may not see.
Look for painting or works of art that depict everyday life, everyday tasks, or something that relates to life or common things.
