You are going to take a shower after a long hard day. What do you plan to do while you’re in the water?
I take the quite time to be alone with my thoughts. I find contemplating and overviewing my day a peaceful activity that keeps my mind moving while I scrub myself down.
I turn my speaker on blast and clean myself while singing along to my favorite songs. Keeping my hygiene up is an essential step towards maintaining my ability to function so that I can do more work!
You’re assigned to do group work in class and you get to choose who you are working with. Who do you choose?
I choose someone with a similar work ethic as me. The quicker we can get the work done, the better!
I choose someone who has a similar vision as me—I want to find someone who wishes to explore the same questions as me for this project, even if we don’t get the work done so quickly.
It’s activity period! What do you spend your time doing?
I head straight to one of the clubs I signed up for and start participating with my friends. I view clubs as a way to collaborate with my peers and create something greater than ourselves.
I don’t really go to clubs (I never really “connect” to any of the people there). Instead, I spend my time in the library working on personal projects. Sometimes it gets kind of lonely.
You’re on a walk in the park and you witness a beautiful sunset. What are the first thoughts that come to your mind?

You’ve been chosen to create a new club about a social justice issue in school. What do you decide to do with your club?
I create a think-tank where people can come to be educated and discuss possible solutions to the issue at hand.
I create a program where club members physically go out and do actions; we physically become the change we want to see in the world.
In which instance are you more likely to call up your friend for a nice long chat?
I just got really into this one niche topic and I NEED to talk to someone about it! I want to plan activities surrounding this topic so that I can learn more about it!
My life has been an emotional rollercoaster right now and I need someone to confide in.
Your parents just gifted you a expensive sneakers for your birthday. What do you plan to do with your present?
Why get a present if you’re never going to use it? I wear the sneakers every day and put them on for every basketball game. They aid my performance.
I keep the sneakers in their box in pristine condition. I don’t really need something so materialistic, but the gift serves as a symbol of my parents love for me and I want to cherish that.
You see an outfit you like on a model in an advertisement. What is the first thought that comes to your head?
I’ll have to recreate that outfit—but put my own spin on it of course!
I admire that outfit on that model. I might not buy what he/she is wearing, but I admit it looks good.
You’re heading to shul. Which program are you most likely to partake in?
I always go the weekly day yomi shuir. I connect with religion through strengthening my learning and religious identity, in hopes of transcending to a higher relationship with G-d.
I partake in my shul’s fundraising campaign. I connect with religion through my community and strengthening our bonds/reaching our goals.
You get home after school. What do you do the second you open the door?
I take my time to contemplate and think about my day, how I can improve as a person, and how I can be a better Jew.
I start my work straight away. The faster I can get it done, the more time I have to work on other personal projects!
