Welcome! Thank you for coming. Before we finalize your paperwork, we've prepared a few simple test questions for all of our new students to determine the house they best belong in. Please answer as honestly as possible; there are no right or wrong answers. With that out of the way, let's discuss your arrival. In a few words, why did you come to this academy?

To learn how to protect others better; to hone my skills in battle.

To see what a magic school looks like on the inside; I dunno, I kinda just stumbled my way in here.

To sharpen my skills in magic; I came here seeking knowledge.

To uncover secrets; I have very specific goals in mind beyond merely learning magic.

To become a better person; I intend to lead by example and learn along the way.

What do you typically think about when travelling to a new place?

I'm usually giddy and excited. New places mean new people. New people mean new challenges!

Not thrilled. There is danger in the unknown, and I prefer to let others take the leap before I do.

I can't wait to learn the new cultures. People interest me no matter where I go.

Eh.. It just happens. I go wherever the wind blows, and it hasn't blown me off course yet.

The souvenirs! Untold treasures might lay there, and I intend to find them all.

You come across someone who's being attacked by a large and powerful monster. What do you do?

Run and get help - there's safety in numbers. Hopefully they can hold on until backup arrives!

Find a solid vantage point that will give me the upper hand and make my attack.

Hit and run, baby! If I'm loud enough, I can distract the beast until they have a chance to escape.

I'll stand back and watch. They might be in danger, but there's no point in risking both of our lives without a solid plan.

I charge the beast, striking it head-on to save the man no matter the cost.

You have one wish. What do you ask for?

I wish for world peace. No more death, sickness, or hunger for the innocent.

I wish for the greatest, rarest treasure to find on the greatest, coolest adventure ever!

I wish for access to all of the information in the world, stored in my own personal library.

I wish for the strength to carry out my duties, and when I'm done, I will die with my brothers-in-arm on the battlefield.

A wish, huh? But there are so many choices! I could become immortal, or find true love, or... Oh, I wish that I could decide! Wait, that's not what I-

Most would describe you as...

Cocky and loud. Some may say that I'm more bark than I am bite because my mouth runs faster than my brain.

A silent thinker. I don't speak much, but when I do, it's usually in other's best interest that they listen.

Protective. I might be a stick in the mud, but whenever there's a fight stirring, I'm usually the one who breaks it up.

Happy-go-lucky. I'm the sun in the room and the glue that keeps my friends together, even if I'm really bad at taking hints sometimes.

Brooding. My tongue is sharp, and many people are off-put by that. It's their loss, though.

What's your decision-making style?

I relentlessly search for the right option but find myself unable to come to a conclusion.

I spend a lot of time weighing the pros and cons before making a decision.

I ask others for their opinion and go with the most popular option.

I trust my gut to make decisions quickly and easily.

I ask someone else to make the choice for me so that I'm not the one to blame.

You find a purse filled with money. What do you do?

Turn it in to the local authorities.

I'll search for some form of identification and try to track down the person myself.

Take it for myself, but only if no one is watching.

Leave it alone, it's probably a trap.

For me? Don't mind if I do!

How do you define success?

By protecting those who could otherwise not protect themselves.

By getting really, really rich. And powerful. And powerfully rich. Did I mention powerful?

By making it out of a tough situation with all of my friends.

By proving myself true when no one would believe in me.

By single-handedly defeating a powerful monster with an intricate plan.

Lastly, I want you to close your eyes. Imagine yourself far into in the future. What do you see?

I see a warrior with a shining weapon, burning bright. I strike my enemy true and save the innocent from the grasp of evil, no matter the cost. I am proud of my kin, and they are proud of what I've become.

I see a lone soul standing atop the highest mountains, above even the harshest of churning clouds. I've bested everyone who has ever wronged me, and my mind runneth over with the secrets of the universe.

I see a free spirit travelling the world, carving their own path for better or worse. I meet many different people, but regardless of where I go, every place that I visit has been left better than it was before I arrived.

I see.. nothing. Try as I might, my mind is an empty void.
