First Vice-President
Monica Fernanda Fernandez de Trujillo. She is a professor at the Education Faculty of the University of Carabobo since 1998. Currently, she is the head Chair of English Practice and the Coordinator of the English labs. Holds a master in Reading and Writing and a Specialization in Educational Management. Co-author of the Activity Book 2 for the series American English Course.
Second Vice-President
Johannes David Rojas Moncada. UC, B.A. in Education, English Major, Johannes is completing his graduate studies in TEFL and conducting research on best practices for EFL teachers among Puerto Cabello regional schools also for UC. He has held several positions as a Phonetics and Phonology intern, ELT instructor at language academies and former head of the Modern Languages School at UNIPAP and Academic Director at CEVAC. Influenced by the volunteering spirit at FACE-UC early on during his teacher training years, he has served VenTESOL in state, regional, national and internationally. He is currently VenTESOL 3rd Vice-president.
Third Vice-President
Miguel Alejandro Perez Ramos. She is an experienced K-12 and adult teacher who holds a B.A. in Education, English Major from University of Carabobo. He founded and heads MFL Academy in San Felipe, Yaracuy State. His main areas of interest are Learning Technologies in ELT and Professional Learning Communities. He has been an active VenTESOLer since 2010, serving as Yaracuy State Representative. He has also been VenTESOL Communications Coordinator since 2013 consolidating VenTESOL’s web presence and social media platforms. He has been a speaker and organizer in regional, national and international conventions for English language teachers.
Communications Coordinators
Jose de Jesus Franco Briceño. He is a full-time Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the English Language Area at Universidad de Los Andes NURR in Trujillo state. He is currently finishing a MD in EFLT. His areas of research are ESP, CALL, Corpus Linguistics and Lexicon. During his career he has participated at national and international academic events.
Julio César Palma Marval. Julio Palma holds a Bachelor s Degree in Education with a Major in Modern Languages from the University of Zulia where he also completed a Master's Degree in Linguistics and Language Teaching. He has been an active speaker at VenTESOL and has published peer-reviewed articles on linguistics. He has participated in 2 online courses from the University of Oregon, sponsored by the U.S. Embassy.
Miguel Antonio Frontado Puerta. ULA, B.A. in Modern Languages (International Organizations/Linguistic and Literary Research). He is currently the Children and Youth courses Coordinator and Access Microsholarship Program at Cevam, and VenTESOL Merida State Rep. He has also conducted researches for the application of technology in the EFL classroom, EFL didactics for young learners, and task-based learning for young students. He also was part of the team that designed the EFL learning online program at CEVAM.
Freddy Alberto Vanegas Toro. He holds a degree in Education in FL and a Master Degree in Management of Education. Spanish TA at “College Descartes”. His major research field focuses on applications of technology in the EFL classroom. He has been a speaker and organizer in national and international conventions. Certified researcher at PEII-ONCTI.
Editor
Jesús Miguel Sosa Caraballo. He is an EFL instructor at ULA Mérida who specializes on the reading and writing skills. He is the Coordinador de Extensión y Producción at the School of Modern Languages, research member at the Centro de Investigaciones en Lenguas Extranjeras ULA, member of the Grupo de Investigación y Escritura en Idiomas Modernos ULA, and moderator at the Centro de Innovación y Emprendimiento para el uso de las Tecnologías en Educación ULA. He is also part of the Teaching/Learning Foreign Languages Master s Program from ULA and his research line focuses in the use of ICT for EFL teaching/learning.
Secretary
Reina Carolina Ruiz Milano. Undergraduate Degree in English Language Teaching and Graduate Degree in Higher Education from UPEL-Maturin. Currently enrolled in the Doctorate Program in Education at UPEL-Maturin. Associate English, Grammar and ESP Professor for undergraduate and graduate students at the Linguistics Department and ELT Master at UPEL-Maturin since 2008, and has organized institutional events for ELT. Department coordinator for Community Service at UPEL-Maturin since 2012, and she has worked with community service projects ever since promoting English Teaching for children. Reina participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program in 2011 and has delivered different lectures regarding ELT with VenTESOL and other organizations.
Jesús Ernesto Lisboa Moreno. Ernesto Lisboa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a major in Modern Languages from Universidad de Carabobo and an MSc in International Management from University of Strathclyde, Scotland. He currently teaches English at UPEL- Maracay, business English in companies, Spanish and French online and he is also a freelance translator. His major field of research is integrating ICT in foreign language teaching. He is the current VenTESOL 1st vice-president. He’s held different positions in VenTESOL. Regional representative (2009), 3rd vice-president (2011-2013), 2nd vice-president (2013-2015), 1st vice-president (2015 -2017).
Treasurer
Pedro Pablo Escalante Montes. Pedro Escalante received his BA in Education major in English from Carabobo University. He took the SIT TESOL certificate course at Centro Espiral Mana in Costa Rica. He has taught EFL and ESP in various settings across Valencia including elementary, secondary and higher education. He teaches in the English Access Microscholarship Program in Valencia and is currently teaching different courses at Carabobo University. He is also 2015-17 treasurer of VenTESOL.
