Why Shadow isn’t “Edgy” Good ol’ Edgy the Hedgy, Origanally debuted in his Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow the Hedgehog or “The ultimate Lifeform” was created by dr gerald robotnik with the blood of black doom (more on edgy the doom man later) The first we see of him in his debut title, he is released from a capsule by eggman. He promises baldy mc nose hair any one wish. Eggman wishes for their alliance and so begins the dark story in sa2 From the name of dark story we can obviously tell it focuses on darker characters such as edgy the hedgy. But I would argue its less literal then just lol they in dark they must be edgy I mean to be fair, when amy grabs him on the prison carrier ship shadow doesn’t say anything edgy like “get off me biiiiitch” he just kinda looks at her like bruh tf u on. Shadow is introverted, that’s why hes quiet, not some form of angst or edge he just lacks social skills as he has never spoken to anybody but maria or eggman. Shadows character is rooted in a dark past. This is what I think Dark Story is referring to. Although his memories are altered by gerald, shadow later finds out that the dying wish of his only friend (maria) was to give humanity a second chance and to protect the world. Thus begins shadows arc as a hero. In sa2 he meets sonic for the first time. Sonic is his first interaction with a real hero. Shadow doesn’t know anything about the blue rat but he does know that he himself is the ultimate lifeform. This is why he puts himself above sonic at first, he is told he has no equal to begin with so why should some random rodent pose any threat to him? This is used in shadows arc to show the development of his relationship with sonic. When they meet again in the forest of prison island, shadow is intrigued as to how hes here but has no time for discussion. (Bruh the islands really boutta blow up tbf) When sonic and shadow battle, neither is the true winner. They are equal.
