CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitors) provide a number of important benefits:  high/low alerts, trending information, sharing capabilities, detailed reports, AND freedom from the need for frequent fingersticks.  But fingerstick glucose readings are still needed from time to time for a variety of reasons.
