What should a good essay introduction include?

A summary of the essay.

Literature that deals with grey research areas, that are not well-defined or chartered.

Information produced by government, academia, business and industry not meant for commercial publishing.

What is good referencing practice if you are using Harvard referencing?

Reference only direct quotes.

Try to paraphrase the sources you used so you do not need to use a reference.

A bibliography or list of references at the end of the text is sufficient.

Reference everything in your text that is drawn from other sources. You'll need an in-text citation in brackets where you use the sources, with surname of the author and year of publication of their work (you may also need page number if citing a specific passage) and a list of references or bibliography at the end of your work, with full bibliographical information of the sources you used, in alphabetical order.
