You are a child once more. You have acquired a delicious cupcake, with money hard-earned by chores. Another child, who has tormented you since you were little, ambushes you with two of his friends in an alleyway, demanding you hand over your prize. What do you do?
I offer to purchase them their own cupcakes, if they are so poor and wretched, and say as much. It will cost me all of my money, but I would rather have the social capital and peace than coins in my pocket.
I snort mucous into my mouth and spit it on top of the cupcake, then offer it up for them to enjoy.
I say "I knew you couldn't resist the bait" as I drop it on the ground, smash it under my foot, and grab a nearby pipe I hid in the alleyway earlier. I walk toward them with the intention of maiming their leader, and invite any injury on me body with a smile and wide-open, sober eyes.
I tell them they can have the cupcake, or a secret recipe scroll I have that summons more cupcakes on demand with the use of proper reagents and rituals. If they refuse, I curse them as short-sighted fools, hand over the cupcake, and move on with my life. When I return home, I approach my altar and place a hex of misfortune upon them, which kills their ability to taste sweet things.
I feign fear and hand over the cupcake. I am later amused by the sight of the bully soiling himself at the community dance that evening. I wanted him to take the laced cupcake all along.
Violence is not the answer, it is the question, and the answer is always 'yes.'

Your mother is sick with a disease that has been ravaging the countryside due to the corruption and mismanagement in your local government causing the drinking water to become tainted. There is nothing you can do to save her, and you have both made your peace with her inevitable death. What do you do?
I bid my mother to tell me what her final wishes are, and I dedicate what time I have left with her to fulfilling those wishes, regardless of what they are, taking my entire life to do so, if necessary.
I rally the communities affected by this tragedy and direct their hatred toward the corrupt government in an attempted violent overthrow. I do not care if we succeed or not, only that guilty heads will roll.
After she dies, I spend my time studying the administration of my local government. I infiltrate their ranks, play their games, and isolate the individual responsible for water management. Once I have them cornered, I murder them and pin it on an equally corrupt colleague of theirs.
I study the symptoms and effects of the disease, and pore over forbidden lore, so as to better understand it and possibly develop a cure so others will not suffer as I have.
I refuse to accept her fate and leave her side, so as to spend her last weeks following leads for a cure. I would rather she have some hope than none, and I must fight for her.
The prospect of eternal life is far more terrifying than oblivion.

You are transformed against your will. Which of the following forms would be your worst nightmare?
A beast of burden, such as an ox, a horse, or a mule, forever tasked with bearing your masters or ploughing their fields.
A dog, brainwashed to enjoy slavish devotion to your masters, made just smart enough to obey complex commands, but kept stupid and hungry enough to be easily controlled with positive and negative reinforcement.
A child forever powerless to affect the world around you, forced to go along with the will of adults, and to conform to their wishes and their visions for your future.
A deer, forever paranoid and alert, doomed to be the meal of the many predators of the forest.
A vermin such as a rat or roach, hated by most beings, and killed on sight by giants far greater in size.
Above all, what do you desire?
The death of the cruel 'god' that created earth and myself, only to treat me like a slave, and my planet like a filthy toy.
The proliferation of knowledge and discipline as the highest virtues throughout the world, for the greatest evil is simple ignorance.
The ability to adapt and endure like water, even if it means letting go of my sense of self, and becoming many masks. No one can hurt me if they can never pin me down.
To see into the hearts of the wicked, to know their true nature, and to rip them apart so they can never hurt anyone ever again.
I desire nothing but to see my family grow and thrive in the face of adversity.
