1. Real all the words in the question stem
in answering either type of verbal classifications question, you need to read every word in the question stem. The relationship among words can change depending on how many of the words you consider. thus, to identify the correct relationship you must read all of them.
2. Think about what relationship exists among the words.
a. To figure out the correct answer, you must determine what relationship exists among the words in the question stem.
i. Are they all animals? All mammals? All dogs? And so forth.
3. review ALL of the answer choices
a. For type 1 questions, figure out which word would be the BEST fit with the three words in the question stem. Determine which word most falls within the exact category as the other 3 words.
b. For type 2 questions, figure out which word in the question stem doesn't fit with the other three words. Determine which three words are most similar, and the remaining fourth word is the correct answer.
