Which Platform is right for you?

How much are you willing to do and learn for setup?
I want minimal fuss. Just let me click and go.
I'm willing to do some medium amount of work if everything is really well explained and labeled.
I don't mind digging into documentation and guides if the results are cool enough.
I will straight up learn entirely new skills to get the maximum out of what I use.
What do you feel you need for a good, immersive roleplaying experience?
Text is more than enough, so long as the writing is genuinely really good. Some character drift is fine too, just needs to be fun.
I really need visual elements. At the very least I want the character portrait to fit the scene and mood.
I really want full visual immersion. Backgrounds, character sprites, the works.
No matter what else, I can't stand character drift. I really need the LLM to be consistent with the characterisation.
Music and sound always really helps me get into and stay in the mood.
What's more important to you about a character library?
I want to be able to browse something central from any device and play from there.
I want things to be saved locally or in my account so no one else can delete my faves.
What's important to you as a creator?
I don't really wanna get into creating anything myself.
I don't want to bother with any complex scripting or programming or a million settings. Just let me write.
I'm happy to create tons of assets and feed them into complex systems so long as I don't have to make the systems myself.
I would love to set up cool game mechanics and systems, but don't know if I could ever learn enough for coding.
I have some coding knowledge or am eager to learn in order to get really funky with game mechanics and systems.
Do you have environmental or ethical concerns about AIRP?
Not really. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism etc.
I do worry about the environmental impact the most.
I worry the most about privacy and sharing of data.
I am really unsettled by the contents of some chatbots, especially ones that offer acces to minors or actually existing people.
I take the most issue with censorship, especially around perfectly healthy kinks and diverse identities.
What's your actual budget for AIRP?
I can't afford to pay any money for this.
I'd be fine paying a sensible flatrate if the LLMs I get address my needs well. Maybe 20USD/month maximum.
I'm honestly cool with paying well for high quality. Over 20USD is absolutely doable.
It fluctuates, so I prefer being able to use something like Pay per Token and just monitor how much I use. The I can keep it lean on bad months and splurge in good ones.
What's your usual message length for roleplaying?
I prefer writing short messages. I'm not looking to make this hobby of mine into work.
I'd say my messages have about medium length. Some effort for clarity and aesthetics, but not taxing myself, you know?
I yap. Okay? I yap! How else is the LLM supposed to know exactly how the hair of my persona catches the light at this time of day!
What message length do you prefer from the LLM?
I like short answers that give me more space to determine my persona's actions.
I like medium length answers. They're more immersive, but still give me good agency.
I want nice, long answer. I honestly enjoy leaning back a little and being entertained by the LLM.
How much control do you exercise and like to exercise in terms of steering?
I really hate when I have to correct the LLM at all. I love surprises and would much rather adapt to cool plot twists than control things.
I'm fine putting in the effort for some minimal steering to keep some stuff consistent. An occasional reroll, an edit here or there to correct a position. So long as it's just small things, that's cool.
I'm willing to take a lot of control, honestly. Rewriting some passages by the LLM to fit better with the flow is fine with me and I do it often enough. I happily finetune my system prompts and adjust my language a bit to make sure the LLM stays consistent.
I can be a bit anal about this, but to be fair, I'm willing to put in the work and patience. Rerolling 50 times to get something good? Sure. Digging through system prompts and adjusting them until the roleplay flows well? I'll do it. I'll rewrite the LLMs entire message sometimes if that's necessary for a good story.
How long are your RPs usually before you move on to another one?
I usually play short arcs that clock in under 100 messages for sure.
I spend quite some time with some stories. Triple-digit message counts are the norm for me.
M-... move on? *sweats as I glance at my 5023 message long RP with my one favorite bot*
