What is the most vivid memory you have from your childhood?
It's not really a specific memory, it's more of a feeling - either a warm love, or cold, terrifying fear.
A day that was significant for some reason - a birthday, or a day you spent at a theme park or museum. You can remember how you got there, what you ate, what everyone was wearing. Everything.
A snipit of about 5 minutes that you could play like a film-reel from projecting straight your mind. It's not a significant event or moment, but it's real, and tangible.
A moment that you remember watching from a tv or movie. It just seems more memorable than real life
My memories are all a bit foggy, or unreliable. I am better with instant recall.
Someone's face. I can remember all the details of this person's face, from a smile to anger in their eyes.
I am, by all accounts, still a child.
If the whole of society was forced to choose one of the following as a name for their child (and let’s face it, wouldn’t life be simpler if you had a one-in-eight shot at guessing someone’s name), what would it be?
Sunshine
Alex
Placeholder
Doom
Sapphire
Xerxes
Robot
Tobor
How do you intend to handle the inevitable economic decline and fall of western capitalism?
I have bought a good quality tent, and staked out an area of farming land that is far enough away from the closest settlement to be unnoticed, and will live out my days alone.
I intend to start a travelling troupe of vagabond actors to keep the remaining masses entertained.
I don’t live in the West, but because I anticipate some far-reaching fall-out, I’ve invested locally and will reap rewards when industry fails elsewhere.
The system will probably not fall within my lifetime, so I’ve made no plans.
I have already retreated from society.
Who is that man who just walked down the street outside your window?
Probably just a normal guy on his way to the shops.
What window?
Oh! I like this game - I play it all the time! I like imagining their home-life the most.
I’d say, judging by his clothes, he’s probably middle-class, so is likely walking, not out of necessity, but out of enjoyment. I’ve come to the conclusion that he’s deranged.
It’s presumptive of you to assume they’re male.
It might be presumptive of you to assume they’re male. Either that, or you know them. How do you know them?
With whose character arc do you most identify?
Zuko - A villain born out of perceived necessity learning to open himself to the unknown and grow to appreciate the struggles of others.
Aang - A scared child, bolstered by the friendship of those around him who enable him to face fears and follow through on his inclination to do what is ‘right’.
Katara - Essentially a war-victim who does not let her experience cause her to become vengeful, but rather maintains her empathy and only fights for the greater good.
Sokka - Originally resentful of those around him being ‘special’, but who eventually learns to nurture and love things about himself that make him unique and useful.
Toph - Absolutely did not let any difficulties or trials hold her back. Instead of giving up, she worked what she had and through determination became unstoppable.
Appa - There for the ride. Just happy to be here, gaang.
Azula - The younger sibling, who was clearly meant for greatness, so forced it upon herself.
In which ancient Western civilisation do you think you could happily kick it?
Ancient Rome - Those whiny bitches just needed someone with a strong personality to tell them what to do. Enter, me.
Ancient Greece - Sit around and discover the early social, mathematical, and philosophical building blocks of society? Sounds like a dream.
Ancient Egypt - Absolutely crazy. I’d fit right in.
Ancient Britain - A bit wild, a bit cold, a bit in touch with the natural order of things.
Pick a stanza of poetry:
Cerebrotonic Cato may / Extol the Ancient Disciplines, / But the muscle-bound Marines / Mutiny for food and pay.
Worker, know the world’s for thee / Wert thou to raise the servile knee / From on the ground.
I made my song a coat / Covered with embroideries / Out of old mythologies
You may shoot me with your words / You may cut me with your eyes / You may kill me with your hatefulness / But still, like air, I’ll rise.
You may forget but / Let me tell you / This: Someone in / Some future time / Will think of us
