Fiddler Crab - males are infamous for having one giant claw. Thus their name!

Swordfish - one of the fastest fish in the sea; their sword-like bills are no joke. Like a lightsaber, you don't want to get close to these.

Flying Fish - their modified pectoral fins allow these beauties to glide for over 600 feet in one jump. Their fast flying might remind you of a certain X-wing fighter

Dragonfish - although small, there is reason for fish to fear these scary looking deep-sea dwellers; they are top predators in the deep, attracting their prey with a bioluminescent lure

Sponge - one of the simplest animals; they are a vital part of our marine (and freshwater!) ecosystems as they filter out huge quantities of water

Midshipman - these fish can be found in coastal waters right here in Louisiana! Their bellies have rows of bioluminescent pores making these otherwise Jabba-like fishes pretty cool!

Baby Sea Turtle - mama sea turtles lay eggs in large sandy nests on our beaches; you'll often find signs warning you to be careful around them!

Baby Penguin - unlike a large portion of the animal kingdom, both mother and father take turns caring for the young egg. I can't blame them. Who wouldn't want to spend time with that cutie!

Baby Squid - much of their juvenile stage is spent floating with the currents as baby squid are not strong enough to swim faster than the current around them!

Queen Amidala

Elegant, always dressed to the nines, a regal gal

Nudibranch - sea slugs! Their name means "naked gill" because their gills stick out from the top of their head unprotected. Much like Padme, these guys will stun you with their colorful eleganza.

Parrotfish - so-called because of their beak-like teeth that munch on coral and algae. Like Amidala in the Galactic Senate, these fish play a vital role (in coral reef function). They eat algae that would otherwise smother the corals!

Paper Nautilus - also called argonauts! Often found near the surface of tropical/subtropical waters eating plankton, they are quite beautiful.

JarJar Binks

Goofy, playful, oftentimes noisy aquatic fellow

Atlantic Croaker - a drum species whose scientific name means tiny beard (which they have!)

Atlantic Brief Squid - their freckled appearance is due to chromatophores that move like expanding and contracting drops of ink

Pipefish - slender, eel-like relatives of seahorses! You can find them right here in Louisiana!

Obi Wan Kenobi

The old, rarely seen, but always wise Jedi Master

Blue Whale - these rarely seen behemoths are the biggest animal to EVER exist! Even bigger than any dinosaur! Estimated life span of 80-90 years

Box Turtle - typical lifespans of 25-35 years but have been known to live over 100 years!

Octopus - one of the most intelligent animals (marine or terrestrial); have been known to fool humans with their jedi-like stealth

General Grievous

Always seems to have a chip on his shoulder... Along with lots of arms!

Mantis Shrimp - one of the strongest punches in the animal kingdom; they can punch at the speed of a .22 caliber bullet!

Sea Spider - warm water species are smaller (fraction of an inch); deep water species grow to 20 inches, yikes!!

Blue Crab - Callinectes sapidus (scientific name) means beautiful, delicious swimmer. Be careful though, these guys won't hesitate to take a chunk out of you if you get too close.

Spooky, wrinkly dude who is always lurking quietly in the background

Blobfish - they only look like this because they don't have much bone or muscle due to living in the deep. Poor blobfish!

White Alligator - not always caused by albinism; another reason for this appearance is the condition known as leucism (*Sith lightning has also been linked to this condition)

Night Heron - often lurking around in the daytime, these birds become more active as night falls.

The Mandalorian

Trigger-happy bounty hunter with a helmet head and an intimidating face

Hammerhead Shark - their big heads are covered in specialized sensory organs that help them find food

Horseshoe Crab - these guys outdate the dinosaurs! They are relatives of scorpions and ancient trilobites

Pistol Shrimp - stun their prey by snapping their powerful claw and shooting a bubble of air at high speed at them. Wham!

Giant Ostracod - while only an inch in size, this species dwarfs it's normally microscopic counterparts

Spookfish - part of a group called barreleyes, those eyes are a result of their dark depths that they live at; bigger eyes capture more light (and help keep an eye out for other pesky bounty hunters)

Hatchetfish - small, abundant dwellers of the deep; these guys have light organs that line their bellies!
