Sakura Quiz 🌸

The kits followed their mother as they explored the lands around their burrow. Their mother screamed a warning as a golden eagle soared above them.
Sakura screamed and took flight, finding a rock jutting out and darted below it. She closed her eyes and lowered her head to the ground hoping her racing heart would stay in her chest. Minutes went past and silence reigned so she cautiously crawled out, her eyes darting everywhere but the creature was gone. “Oh no,” she wailed as she suddenly realised her family was also gone. Her head spinning in all directions she saw nothing but the white landscape.
“What are you doing by yourself little snow fox?” Sakura jumped in the air and spun around to come face to face with an orange snake with darker colours zig zagging along her back slithering towards her. “You need to be careful as one bite for Re the Asp will leave you dead.”
“I lost my mum.” She cried.
“Oh. Well have you tried over yonder?” The animal hissed and pointed her tail to the East.
“Thank you, I have not,” Sakura feeling hopeful gave the snake a friendly nod as she took off to find her family. She leaped and pounced as she went.
“Ooomph,” she fell into a deep hole and tumbled. Picking herself up she shook and looked in dismay at the sheer sides of where she had fallen.
“Find yourself in trouble did you?” Piercing olden eyes peered over the edge in laughter.
“I kind of did,” she mumbled and crouched low in fright.
“Hold onto my wing you silly creature” and silky feather strands dropped down. Sakura took hold gently with her teeth as she was launched through the sky and dumped unceremoniously beside the hole.
“Thank you, friend. I was afraid I would be stuck forever.” She looked up in gratitude at the strange creature.
“Not all Hippogriffs are friendly young pup and you might get eaten rather than saved. Where are you going in such a hurry? You’re too young to be alone.” The creature cocked it’s head at her.
“I lost my mum.” She cried.
“Ah, I see. Try going that way but look out for holes.” The kindly Hippogriff galloped off before soaring into the sky.
Sakura raced off eager to get home and pounced and leaped with glee when she slid across some ice and plunged headfirst into a snow bank.
Something grabbed her tail and pulled but she was stuck tight. She tried to help by pushing back but it didn’t help. Then all of a sudden she skidded back. She shook her head and ears free of snow as she looked at her saviour. A horse was in the water under the ice!
A black head gazed down upon her. “Are you alright little one?” He asked in concern and she nodded, staring in awe at his translucent fins.
“I think so friend. Thank you. I thought I might need to eat my way through the snow.” The Hippocampus sniggered politely and shook his head. “Be careful. You’re lucky you dove into the snowbank and didn’t plunge into my waters.”
“I lost my mum.” She cried.
The majestic Hippocampus blinked in sympathy and turned his head, “try over there. I think I saw little foot paws in the ground.”
Sakura’s little ears perked up but she decided to go cautiously, “thank you, friend,” she called in goodbye and crossed the snowy land. Over a hill and skirting a frozen lake she raised her head and howled.
There across in the distance was her family.
She hurried over to them and quickly told her story. Her mum laughed and shook her head at the wayward kit, "oh Sakura. Those creatures don't exist." Sakura blinked but she knew what she saw and gave a little smile. Maybe she of all of them was the only one who knew.
