Astrological Archetype (And Prospective Birthdate Range)

Astrology, zodiac types in particular (leo, sagittarius, etc.) have gained notoriety in contemporary western society. Despite much critique from sceptics and scientists, 27% of Americans believe in astrology, while 22% are unsure and the remaining 51% do not [1]. A major criticism being that astrology relies on the "Barnum-Forer effect", whereby individuals, exposed to very generic descriptions that they are told are "tailored to them", give very high accuracy ratings. Especially if the information is given by a person of perceived authority, and if it is mostly positive [2].

I began to wonder recently just how vague and generic these descriptions were, deciding to look into zodiac types. And after reading type descriptions on Astrology.com, what I found were many disjunct personality traits loosely stuck together, which didn't seem to paint a coherent picture, for instance Taurus:

Receptive, creative and feminine, yet a controlling, unchangeable, methodical, and dependable sustainer

Indulgent, loving excess, and sensual pleasure, yet giving, patient, generous and affectionate

Determined, yet vulnerable to getting demotivated

So I decided to create this personality test, which organises the signs into archetypes, distinguished by their primary characteristic, or mantra ("I think", "I am", "I have", etc.) provided by Astrology.com. These will be treated as "core desires" or "motivations", which the users answers seem to point toward. This, of course, dogmatically assumes that these are mutually exclusive fundamental desires.

The goal is to get a large amount of people to take it, and to observe the trends that emerge. At the end, users will be given a type with a certain accuracy percentage (percentages for all other types included), with their prospective birthdate range associated with said type. It should be noted that the zodiac personalities are theoretically modified by exact day and month of birth, and birthplace. This is not factored into the tests typing system, nor in the prospective birthdate range.
