How did you choose the answer to the previous question?
Which of the following is NOT a good example of elaboration:
The poem’s themes of poetry, immortality, and love remind me of one of Shakespeare’s sonnets that presents a similar theme. Both poets are speaking to their beloved and promising to make them immortal through poetry. Spenser compares his beloved’s mortality to drawing her name in the sand, and Shakespeare compares it to a summer’s day. Both poets conclude, however, by promising to make their beloved immortal through “verse.”
This poem is an excellent example of Renaissance poetry. It is a structured sonnet with an idea introduced in the first eight lines, and expanded upon in the last six. The poet’s use of the ocean reminds me of the days I spent in Key Largo.
