What is your Mum Style?

You have to leave the house at 8am for the school run. If you leave late, you will get caught in traffic and won’t get a parking space near the school. Your kid is on a ‘go slow’ and is now refusing to brush their teeth...do you?

Start getting annoyed and raising your voice, as you’ve asked them 3 times already

Ask them numerous times, then end up brushing their teeth for them

Try to reason with them but get nowhere, so you decide to accept defeat and the now late mark from the school

Secretly cry on the way to school (once you’ve got them in the car) then feel guilty for being late and like you’ve failed for the day.

Your child brings home some special homework that has to be completed this week and they need your help, do you?

Tell them to make a start on their own, you’ve got so much on this week and start to slightly panic about getting it all done

Know you’ve not got much time but end up doing the majority of the homework for them

Cancel your plans for the next few days (even though you’ve got lots on) and focus on getting the homework completed with their help

Where would you prefer to go on your main family holiday?

Anywhere, as long as you can get there easily and it includes everything you may need

Somewhere for everyone to enjoy, such as dual destinations with a beach, city, kids activities and spa

Anywhere that you know the rest of the family would enjoy as you’ll be happy seeing them happy

A place that isn’t too expensive or takes the kids out of school as you don’t want to affect their education

You have lots of housework to do (or it’s the cleaners' week off) and ask the kids to help - how do you convince them?

You threaten them with no treats if they don’t help

You bribe them to help but end up re-doing everything they have done as it’s not to your standards

You don’t convince them and end up doing everything yourself, whilst they play

You don’t ask at all, they’re kids and should just be playing

Many mums feel overwhelmed by all of your responsibilities, how do you manage this?

It stresses me out on a daily basis

I just keep going until I burn out

Responsibilities are part of being a Mum and I just get on with things

You’ve had a busy and tiring day but still made dinner for everyone. Your child decides they don’t like what you’ve made, without even trying it. How do you react?

You throw their dinner in the bin and tell them they’re not getting anything else

You spend the next hour trying to get them to eat it by any means necessary, whilst your own dinner goes cold

You tell them you’re disappointment but make them something else so they’ve eaten

You feel bad for making something they don’t like and just give them dessert

You spend the day visiting family and receive some unsolicited parenting advice. How do you handle this?

You take offence and advise them their advice is not needed

You just add it to your list of advice and include it in your own parenting style

You politely say thank you and agree it could be of help to your family

You say nothing then question your entire parenting style

You’re out shopping with your kids and one decides to have a full on meltdown in the shop as you won’t buy them an expensive toy they’ve seen. What do you do?

You lose your patience and march them out of the shop

You spend the next 20 minutes calming them down and explaining why they can’t have the toy, whilst doing the shopping

You buy them the toy, even though you haven’t really got the money

You feel like everyone is looking at you and judging your parenting

How do you sneak away for some time to yourself?

You let everyone know, in no uncertain terms, you are not to be disturbed for an hour and lock yourself in the bathroom

You can only make it work on a particular day and set an alarm for when your time is up

What time to myself?

You only make it to 30 mins before feeling like you should be back with the kids

You’re at the park and whilst you’re on the phone (against your advice!) your child has climbed to the top of the climbing frame and is now stuck. What do you do?

You make them wait before you rescue them, telling your kid they shouldn’t have climbed so high

You put the call on speaker phone, run over and help them down whilst still having your conversation

You hang up your call immediately and race straight over to help them

You finish the call and help them down telling them you’re sorry for not being there
