Buffalos were an important resource for a lot of indigenous tribes. In order to kill of a lot of indigenous people the U.S Army was asked to shoot up buffaloes until they would become too scarce to sustain the indigenous people. A famous quote from that time is “Every buffalo dead is an Indian gone,”
During the U.S Buffalo Slaughter hunters were killing thousands of buffaloes simply for the fun of hunting. The buffalo was considered a "dirty" animal as they resembled the indigenous community. A famous quote from that time is "Every buffalo dead should be an Indains head."
When the American first discovered buffaloes they underestimated their strenght and capactiy to kill. So during hunting season a lot of Americans were "slaughtered" by the buffaloes. To redeem themselves the American would go hunting in large groups to kill as many buffaloes as possible. A famous qoute from that time is "Every buffalo dead is a step towards free America."
What do you understand under the term "Black Rosies" or "Rosies"?
During WWII a lot of black women could integrate themselves into the economy by working in factories that were producing warfare materials.
During and following the Korean War the United States military used regulated prostitution services in South Korean military camptowns. These camptown clubs were racially segregated so no mixed raced baby between a black man and a korean woman was born. If this regulation was broken the woman had to abort the fetus or it had to be taken in by the soldiers family.
The Black Rosies, original name Black Rosies for Self-Defense, African American revolutionary party, founded in 1966 in Oakland, California, by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale. The party’s original purpose was to patrol African American neighbourhoods to protect residents from acts of police brutality. The Black Rosies eventually developed into a Marxist revolutionary group
