Is the safety policy communicated to workplace parties? INTERPRETATION: In your own words, what does the safety policy say?
Senior management has reviewed this policy with the safety committee and they all agree on its content.
WCA & CSAM management is committed to provide a safe workplace environment and work in a spirit of co-operation and consultation to identify, communicate and control hazards.
WCA & CSAM have developed an in-depth safety policy that convers all the human rights of the employees that work here.
The safety policy states that all workers will be paid for their hours worked and are entitled to vacation time.
Are the personnel competent to participate in the hazard assessment process? INTERPRETATION: How have you been trained to identify hazards?
Only the people that do hazard assessments have been trained.
Management will do the hazard assessment.
We were trained in a toolbox talk in 2022 how to identify hazards and complete inspections.
Hazard assessments are completed by the event organizer after the event.
Are the rules written and prominently posted or provided to each employee? INTERPRETATION: How are the safety rules provided or made available to you?
We review the safety rules in our orientation and they are available on the share drive for us to review, or posted in the lunchrooms.
They are only found in the CSAM safety board.
All workers are made aware of the safety rules after the probation period is over from our hire date.
The safety rules are in the employee handbook we get at orientation.
Is there a method for the evaluation and monitoring of the knowledge, competency, and effectiveness of safety and health training of employees? INTERPRETATION: How was your mandatory training verified prior to you starting work?
All my safety training was done after I started working here.
I had to prove I knew how to do my job.
I just told the managers I was trained and they believed me.
I provided previous certificates and have since wrote tests – such as first aid.
Does management/supervisor regularly refer to relevant legislation and regulations during job planning to ensure compliance? INTERPRETATION: Does your supervisor regularly discuss relevant regulation and legislation when assigning work? Can you give an example?
YES – We had a toolbox talk last year about how to do inspections properly, including the frequency and who is involved.
YES – But only when they have time.
Are copies of relevant legislation posted and/or made readily available at each workplace as required? INTERPRETATION: Where are copies of relevant legislation found in the office?

Are the risks reassessed/re-evaluated as when people, equipment, material, environment, or processes are changed? INTERPRETATION: How are the hazards reassessed as the hazards change?
Once a hazard assessment form is complete, we don’t change it – the hazards don’t change.
That’s up to the people that work on the assessment.
If something changes, we are made aware of it during a quick group talk and we update the form.
We know what all the hazards are.
Are safe work practices understood by employees? INTERPRETATION: Describe some of the key points of a safe work practice applicable to your work.
