Think of your position in a group of close friends, preferably in high-school or college or a similarly neurotic environment. Pick the statement that most accurately describes your social position.
I stay out of conflicts as much as possible, and when I do get involved its to arbitrate disputes fairly. I like to think I'm the leader, but there's one person who challenges me...
I was one of the first people in this group, and I was the leader. I like to keep to myself and remind people of my great glory days.
I am not sure how I'm still here, but I'm clinging on for dear life--the other group I could join is horrible!
I used to be a really dynamic member of the group, but my old jokes and old ways aren't cool anymore. I tend to rely on the new guy for help, since he is something of an outsider too.
I've been around a while, but I'm something of an outsider regardless. I'm the biggest kid on the block, with some behavioral issues to boot.
I'm the new guy who's unsure of his own strength but realizes that everybody knows I'm pretty cool. I have gone far in a short time, but I will go farther still!
I am kind of awkward, and while I sense that there are tensions in the group I don't really know where I stand.
Choose the statement that most accurately describes your best friend in this scenario.
Although he's frustrating, my best friend in this situation is the ambitious, dynamic guy. I need his energy and ambition.
I really don't know where I stand! I'll go where the wind takes me.
I stand with anyone who opposes that arrogant guy who thinks he runs the show, especially when he interferes in my business.
Although my old-fashioned friend is not what he used to be, he is loyal to me, and that's something I sorely need in this environment where I'm a bit unsure of myself.
As the leader, I try not to be partial...but if I HAD to pick, I suppose it would be the former leader. I need her help to maintain my own authority.
I'm very different from my best friend, but we both get under the skin of the new guy and that's what matters.
I miss my glory days, but I'll bite my tongue and stick with the somewhat aloof current "leader."
Choose the statement that most accurately reflects your worldview.
All is sunny and bright. I am hazily aware that I am in my prime, and that things are really going my way. I fear on some level that this won't last forever...
I am drawn to see the world cynically, as a Darwinian struggle for survival. I can be nice, but only once I have what I need to feel secure.
We need more respect for the old ways. I miss the good old days when things were simple--now, things move too quickly and even the best people see each other as threats rather than partners.
Things are bad, but they could be a whole lot worse. I hope the world stays mostly the same--any change isn't liable to make things much better.
The way the world is going culturally is just reprehensible. I will stick to my old ways and if I feel any part of myself being drawn to the new ways, I will suppress it as much as I can.
The world is going to be a better place, and my ideas are going to make it so even if I myself can't play the biggest part. Most people just need to adapt and learn that my way is the way the world is going.
My worldview is in flux. I'm a mixture of old and new in such a way that the harder I try to think about it and resolve the tensions between the more confused I become.
Choose the statement that most accurately reflects your work ethic and your organizational skill.
I am a very hard worker, and I place a very high value on organization. I may be deeply stressed, but I deliver the best results.
I am becoming a better worker and I have enormous potential, but I'm stuck in my old ways to really excel.
I am deeply lazy, and I prefer to just look so inept that my friends do my work for me rather than see my collapse.
I'm thrifty, and I work hard because I have a stiff upper lip and refuse to back down.
Eh, tomorrow my friend! Tonight, wine!
I am not the best worker, but I'm talented enough to pull it together last minute and do something most people appreciate.
I don't have much organizational skill or of a passion for my work, but I have a lot of time and effort to give and I get what I want just by grinding my workload down.
How should men be ruled?
Liberté, égalité, fraternité--at any price.
A representative government that guards my liberties but pays homage to the old ways of monarchy.
By God and his divinely chosen monarch.
By God and his divinely chosen monarch...but give them some representative institutions to make governance easier for both the ruler and the ruled.
Are you happy with yourself? Choose the answer that best reflects your current condition.
Yes, but I feel like some parts of me no longer belong in the person I'm becoming.
Of course! Well, I do fear where all my ambitions are taking me...I'm not sure all of myself is fully dedicated to the goals I have chosen.
Some would say I have many internal contradictions, and perhaps they're right. But I manage to stay afloat regardless, because God is on my side.
I tell people I am and tell them to become like me, but I am deeply divided about the battles I fought with my old self to become who I am today.
As long as I don't think about it!
How much loyalty do you have for your country?
My only regret is that I have but one life to give for it!
I love my country, but I'm only going to fight if they need me.
I am deeply critical of my country, but I'll support it if its in true danger.
Country? It doesn't care for me, so why should I care for it!
I go where I am told--I don't think about it too much.
My country has a great history, but it isn't worth much now. Its religion is worth defending, however.
Which time period would you most like to experience?
1866-1873.
1688-1740.
1789-1815.
Anytime after 1689, really, it's all been on the up since then.
1453!
220 BC-380 AD or so...
1815-1830 or so.
