When you decorate for the Holidays, how do you plan everything out?
Strategically: October 1st comes, and you begin a methodical layout of how and where all decorations in your home will be.
Spontaneous :I catch it where I can in my schedule and allow the creative magic to pour from me.
Year 'round baby! I never stop planning. When Xmas Eve hits, I'm already planning for next year
You like to take things nice and easy. You allow the perfect themes to drift along your way, and choose things in a spontaneous, albeit orderly manner.
When do you begin listening to Xmas music?
The day after Thanksgiving: It's uncivilized to listen sooner.
I actually enjoy Christmas music year 'round.

What are your views on Christmas sweaters?
They're not referred to as 'ugly' for nothing.
I find them quaint and charming... As long as some fool hasn't pinned some atrocious extraneous items onto it.
The gaudier the better. Bring on the bling!
My favorite are the Nordic sweaters with little snowflakes and reindeer.
When do you decorate your home for Christmas?
I gradually put things up after Halloween.
Thanksgiving night: I forgoe the commercialism of Black Friday, and use that time to transform my home into a Holiday wonderland.
Sporadically throughout the month of December.
I like to throw a 'decorating cookie' party the first part of December, and let my halls reflect my friends.
Is it okay to leave Christmas lights up year 'round?
How tacky!
As long as I don't have them turned on past mid January. It's such a hassle to put them up every year.
Indoor mini lights can be magical all year long. Especially the little white ones
When do you put your Xmas tree up?
Before Thanksgiving
The day after Thanksgiving
Sometime in December: we make it a family affair at the local tree lot.

What are your views on fake fireplaces?
Magical! I love the ones with candles inside a faux mantle.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I was raised with the red corrugated cardboard ones. Anything to make it fun!

Do you enjoy Christmas Caroling?
Of course. Even if I don't sound good, I just like having fun. It's the spirit that matters.

When do you do you Xmas gift shopping?
IF I shop at all, I take it as it comes. Christmas isn't about the gifts.
Black Friday. Get out of my way. I'm a machine.
I prefer to make gifts sometimes.
What the heck? I've got to feed people AND buy them stuff?
To Christmas Card or NOT to Christmas Card: that is the question.
I rely on e-cards or social media memes.
A group email to my friends and family
Classic HAND WRITTEN cards is the ONLY way to go.

Make it Retro. Big Band to Mid-Century
Classic Carols. I love the harmony parts.
Baroque and String Quartet music. I also love bells.
Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer and Chipmunks. Ya baby!
Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians and Mitch Miller choirs. The more the merrier!
