What does VFC stand for?

VFC Eligibility is based on all of the following criteria:

Vaccines are to be screened at all visits

Only certain Vaccines are available through the VFC program

State supplied Vaccine may be borrowed for use in someone 19 years and older

All vaccines must be stored refrigerated between 2C - 8C (35F-46F) - with the exception of Varicella, MMRV and MMR

Data Logger needs to be checked for ANY out of range temperatures REGARDLESS of "X"

Staff only needs to check the Data Logger once a day in the morning.

What is the Vaccine Administration fee for state supplied vaccines?

If a patient has a outstanding bill - we can deny providing any vaccine to the patient

When administering a vaccine, it is NOT important to document VFC eligibility.

State or Purchased Vaccines doesn't matter which is given to patient as long as they receive the vaccine

You do not need to contact your Vaccine Coordinator, Back-up Coordinator or RN Team Leader as long as you upload the data logger and contact the state.
