I recently sent a Media Release to the sports coordinators from the NSW Government - 'Road Safety hits the streets as school returns'. The next three questions are based on this. Minister for Transport and Roads stated that;
Children are our most vulnerable and inexperienced road users and ensuring their safety on our roads is a key priority
Children can be stupid when it comes to road safety so we must ensure that we educate them
Children do not have the same awareness of road safety that adults have, therefore it is everyone's responsibility to educate them
Parents are not taking the time to teach their children about how to stay safe on our roads so schools have to be more proactive to keep the children safe
