INFORMED CONSENT
Levels of Creativity
You are invited to take part in a research study about people’s creativity. This study is being conducted by Vianka Aguirre, Tatyana Block, Emily Levandowski, Hadir Al-Shekarchy, students at St. Catherine University. The faculty advisor for this study is Professor Art Sesma, associate professor and Chair of the Psychology Department at St. Catherine University. You have been invited to participate in this study because you are a student at St. Kate’s, and/or you are a friend or family whom we specifically reached out to on social media to participate in out study.
Purpose
The purpose of the study is to investigate the varying approaches in which affects people creativity levels.
Procedures
If you agree to be in this study, you will be given a link to follow. Then you will be asked to answer demographic questions and complete a task that will aid us in measuring creativity levels.
Risks and Benefits
This study will not pose any risks to the physical or mental well-being of involved individuals. However, if at any time during the exercise you decide you no longer want to be involve you have every right to change your mind. Additionally, there are no direct benefits to you for participating in the study. Although this study will not directly benefit any of the participants this research will aid us in discovering whether more about how creativity can be influenced.
Confidentiality
All submitted responses will be kept private and only researchers involved in the study will have access to the files. Moreover, when the data are analyzed all personal information will be excluded from the report.
Voluntary Nature of Study
Participation in this study is voluntary. Participants decision to participate or not will not influence your current or future relationships with any staff, faculty, or students at St. Catherine University. Agreement to participate in the study is not binding and participants reserve the right to change their minds at any given time during, before, or after the study.

Thank you and we appreciate your contributions to this study. In an effort to obtain better results, we withheld the true purpose of the study. Now that the study has ended we would like to fully explain the full extent of the experiment. With this information you can decide whether or not you would like your data to be included.
What the study really is about
The purpose of the research was to explore the effects of the color green on the creativity levels of the participants. Music and an additional color was added as another factor to better analyze the effects of the color green. We deceived you by not telling you that color and music were variables we thought might influence
creativity levels.
Taking part is voluntary
Although you have already completed the experiment, your involvement is still voluntary, and you have the choice to exclude your data, without penalty. Eliminating your data will not negatively affect your relationship with the researchers, the General Psychology faculty or St. Catherine University.
Privacy/Confidentiality
If you agree to allow us to use your data, there would be no breach of privacy because your name and all other private information will remain confidential. All included data will remain anonymous to everyone with the exception of the researchers involved in the study. The faculty advisor supervising this study is Dr. Arturo Sesma, faculty member in the Psychology Department at St. Catherine University.
