Goal of the season
Nat @ Woodkirk, showing he should have played up front for years, in his final ever game. Useful.
Sam v Morley, when they literally gave up by the time he crossed half way.
George v Morley. Hits ‘em well, doesn’t he.
Performance of the year
Nostell away. 8-0. Chris Abbiss played like vintage Pirlo.
Beeston away. First game after Christmas, Rob was so worried he offered a full team round if we won. 5-0 up 20 mins in.
Woodkirk away. Just too good for them.
The Nice Human award, for upsetting the opposition
Rob v Woodkirk: after announcing we had no subs, materialising one from a nearby pitch 2 minutes later. They were upset.
Jonjo v Morley. Might have left a foot in, sure. Ended up needing medical attention.
Whoever wants to claim credit for Collegians melting down and getting several sin bins, one after another. They cried about it on Twitter afterwards. You love to see it.
Storm off of the season, aka the Joe Page Memorial Trophy
Lew Barnes, game one of the season. Saw what Gildersome were offering, said no thanks and went home in the second half.
Nick @ Collegians - it’s a long walk back to those changing rooms, so he made sure he got a good head start
Cal v Golcar, the very next game after getting on his soapbox at Collegians. Nothing if not passionate <3
Award for most unnecessary shots fired
Rob Herd, dishing out a half time roasting with Shire 5-0 up at Beeston
Ronan for having a pop at the strikers at full time in the same game where we scored 7, and our striker scored 5
Jack Kelland, asking Ronan if he’d played against Gildersome the previous week. We’d played CM together for most of the game.
No show of the season
Jonny Brand v Woodkirk. Leading to actual messages of concern for his well-being several days later.
Lew Warnock*, ignoring Cookson and George knocking on the door of their Middlesbrough hotel room and forcing them to sleep elsewhere (*it was unlocked lads.)
Shire Academics 1st team versus Gildersome.
Song of the year
It’s Raining Men.
