Read Only Memory which requires very little power to run, and usually holds semi-permanent important data that cannot be lost when device is powered off.
RAM is
Random Access Memories, a high-speed memory. When you load a program, or open a document, that program or document is read from your hard drive and stored in RAM so your CPU can execute the program's instructions, or manipulate the document, very quickly. RAM is orders of magnitude faster than any hard drive.
