7 - Here are several scenarios, in the box below, please rank them in order of how believable they are.
Please rank them from most to least believable - for example, if you think scenario A is most believable, then D, C and finally B, you would write: ADCB in the box).
In these scenarios, you do not know the people involved.
Scenario A: A man and his wife move into a new home. At first little things begin to happen, items move and odd noises in the night. After a week or so, they begin to get an uncomfortable feeling. At the end of the first month, the woman sees a figure stood in a hallway. About a month and a half in, the woman is injured by being pushed down stairs by unseen hands. The pair put the house back on the market and leave.
Scenario B: A man is alone in a house he has lived in for over ten years when suddenly a chill comes over him. He lives alone and is very creeped out. He catches sight of something from the corner of his eye, it looks like the figure of a woman. The figure vanishes and is never seen again.
Scenario C: A woman buys a new vase and puts in in her living room. That night, the whole family witness the item wobble off the counter and break. Nobody touched it. After that, sometimes the figure of a young woman is seen around the house.
Scenario D: A young man buys his first flat. His friends all complain that it has a creepy atmosphere and one claims to have seen a mist in the shape of a woman in the back bedroom.
8 - A friend or family member who you trust tells you the following story, what is your first reaction?
"I was at home alone watching the television, when I thought I heard a clatter behind me. I looked around to see that one of my books had fallen off the shelf. I got up and felt an ice cold prickle go up my spine. I bent to pick the book up and I heard a voice whisper into my ear "don't touch that!" I spun around and there was nobody there"
I would think they had witnessed a ghost.
I would think they were very tired.
I would think they were lying.
I would believe them, but I would suspect that there was a logical explanation.
I would believe them but I would think they were exaggerating.
I would be unsure what to think.
9 - A friend or family member who you trust tells you the following story, what is your first reaction?
"I was at a party/club/gathering but I swear I wasn't drunk. I left the establishment at around midnight and set off across town. When I was passing the old abandoned factory, I thought I heard somebody call my name, then call for help. I was freaked out, but I paused and looked in through the gate. Inside I couldn't see anything, but then somebody tapped me on the shoulder. I spun around but there was nobody there. I ran home."
I would think they had witnessed a ghost
I would think they were very tired
I would believe they had a ghostly encounter
I would think they were intoxicated
I would think they were lying
I would believe them, but I would suspect that there was a logical explanation.
I would believe them but I would think they were exaggerating.
