The rainbow serpent coiled up and rested there for a very long time, eventually slithering away to leave a huge indentation (the bay).
Ngurunderi paddled down the Birrarung Marr (Yarra River) in search of his wife and daughter and when he came to the end he was so frantic he started digging up the earth, he did this until the huge bay formed.
The bunyip father (much bigger than your average bunyip) was driven by ancient Wurundjeri warriors to a lake on the edge of their lands and he was so angry that he flailed around in the water making the lake deeper and deeper so he could disappear deep into the water.
It just turned up about 10,000 years ago after a big flood.
