Circulatory system

Name at least 2 functions
Transportation, cooling, or protection
Name the 3 organs that make up the system
Heart, blood vessel, and blood

What does the left atrium do?
Receive the blood that has oxygen

What does the pulmonary semilunar valve?
Lets the left ventricle occupy the blood

What makes up blood vessels
Arteries, veins, capillaries

Describe how the pulmonary circulation works
The deoxygenated blood firstly enters the heart through the Pulmonary Arteries into the Right Atrium then pumped through the Tricuspid Valve to the Right Ventricle Then this deoxygenated blood is pumped through the Pulmonary Semilunar Valve into the Pulmonary Arteries into the lungs In the lungs, the deoxygenated blood goes into the Bronchiole where then it goes through the alveoli In the alveoli, there is a gas exchange between the carbon dioxide and the oxygen where in the deoxygenated blood becomes oxygenated blood through the Capillaries and then pumped through the Pulmonary

Describe how to systemic circulation works
Then the oxygenated blood is pumped through the Bicuspid Valve to the Right Ventricle and then pumped through the Aorta Artery into the upper body, lower body, digestive system, and the liver In the upper body, lower body, and the liver, the oxygenated blood goes into the Capillaries in which the oxygenated blood picks up the carbon dioxide While in the digestive system, the oxygenated blood goes into the Capillaries in which the oxygenated blood picks up the carbon dioxide and is pumped through the portal vein Then the oxygenated blood from the upper body, lower body, the liver, and in the digestive system is then pumped back to the Right Atrium After that this process is then repeated again from the first chamber (Right Atrium) to the last chamber (Left Ventricle) with the Systematic and Pulmonary Circulation

Describe how the heart contracts and relax
Systole: your Right and Left Ventricle contracts blood into the blood vessels and fills up your Right and Left Atrium Diastole: your Right and Left Atrium relaxes and fills up your Right and Left Ventricle with blood

How does the circulatory system work with the digestive system
The digestive system breaks down the nutrients and then it goes into the bloodstream and gets pumped out by the heart

What is CAD
It is when the arteries in your body get plaque on their inner walls and restricts the circulation of blood to your heart

Name 1 treatment for cad
Lifestyle changes  eating a healthy diet do not eat a lot of salt Quit smoking if you are because the smoke is very bad for our heart Get more exercise Don’t stress too much Get asprin
