This amusing sculpture by Tom Otterness is located outside the Krannert Art Museum (KAM). With more than 11,000 works in its permanent collection dating from the fourth millennium BCE to the present, KAM is the second-largest general fine art museum in Illinois. It is free and open to all.

Founded in 1867, the University Library started with a $1000 investment to ensure that a core collection of "indispensable books" would be available to faculty and students. This mural is in the Center Stair Hall on the second floor of the Main Library as it welcomes you to the main stacks.

This stone portal stands at the east entrance to campus at Lincoln Avenue and Illinois Street. The gateway was originally constructed in front of the New Main University Hall (where the modern day Illini Union stands). After some time in storage and a large restoration and moving effort, Hallene Gateway stands again, declaring the University motto: Learning and Labor.

Stretching 3.9 miles long and flowing through both Champaign and Urbana, Boneyard Creek predates the university itself. This image was taken from the streamflow-gaging station, used to monitor river information. Not only used to issue flood forecasts and reports on local water reservoirs, Boneyard Creek has been an integral part of university culture since the beginning.
