UCF WIA 2020 Board Elections

Who would you like to vote for to be UCF WIA President.

Nicole Young (@nicolekimber21) "Hi! My name is Nicole Young and I’m an Experimental Animation and Emerging Media Management major and my federal job is being an animated movie producer for Pixar. I’m running for President if WIA because I know I can do a phenomenal job because I have leadership experience being captain of the UCF Speech and Debate Team, being Vice President and Treasurer of the American Sogn Language Club, and I’m also just an overall organized and to the point person. This year I was also state runner-up for Persuasive Speaking so I’m not afraid to ask for what’s necessary for the club, such as asking for funding from SGA, and I can also phrase it in a way that’s both polite and persuasive. On top of all of this I’m also extremely passionate about everything having to do with the animation field so I’ll have the motivation to work tirelessly to make the club the best it can possibly be. Nathaniel Benetatos (@good.hot.toast) "Hi, my name is Nathaniel Benetatos and I’m running for WIA Vice President. I’m running for VP because I am passionate about helping young animators and artists network with each other and with those in the industry. WIA’s message of inclusivity is also very important to me, and I want to help shape a future where the animation industry is more diverse. I was the Vice President and President of my high school’s GSA (gender-sexuality alliance), so I do have experience with running a club that I can bring to the table. I love this club so much and I want to help young animators as much as I can during these incredibly difficult times."

Toyin Oshomoji (@oliviaoo_art) “Hello fellow WIA members, my name is Toyin Oshomoji. I am a upcoming senior studying Experimental Animation. Currently I am running for the position for Vice President of Women in Animation m. Like many others, I joined Women in Animation as a way to connect with others and learn more about the world of animation. If elected as Vice President, I would like to provide as much resources and projects to groups to further your experience with Women in Animation. I look forward to working with you. Thank you! “

Oliver Banaszak (@captainoliver) "Hi, I'm Oliver Banaszak, and I'm currently a junior in the Experimental Animation program. I have a soft spot for narrative whether it be through animation, graphic novels, or comics! I've actually never been a part of a club before this semester, and once I finally joined WIA I feel like I've found something I want to be involved in. Ive enjoyed the time with this organization thus far and would love to use my skills to help support this club in the future."

Mei Tzu Su (@t.su_art) "Hello. My name is Tzu Su, but you may call me Mei. For those who do not know me, I am a third year student in the experimental animation track and have been a WIA member since the founding semester. I believe I am qualified for the position of Secretary in the organization’s UCF branch because I am organized, detail-orientated, and am experienced in communicating information to superiors, peers, and to a targeted audience in a professional manner. I am familiar with the different platforms of communication many of us use, and am able to prepare needed information quickly and efficiently. I am meticulous with notation, so that during any special event or gbm the information will be readily available. Thank you for your time and consideration for this nomination."

Priscilla Asaolu (@blue0rc) "Hi, My name is Priscilla and I am a character animation major. This quarantine has given me more time to develop my hobbies and passion which include art, reading, writing, music, and crocheting. I love learning new things and making it fun. Angie Benitez-Garcia (@Instant_cola) "Hi my name is Angie and I’m a graphics intern who chose to run for event coordinator because I feel it’s a position that I’m fitted for. I love talking to others and being organized, which is an important part of coordination. I’m also very on top of my tasks and dedicated, so I would make sure that everything I try to arrange would work to the best of its ability.
