Hi, is this Lean On Me?
I’m just tired all the time
I think there’s just been a lot going on. Usually I’ve been able to get all my work done, but I just don’t feel motivated. Applying to internships has been stressful too.
I’m not really sure why I’m not motivated. I sort of care about my grades, and I guess I like my classes, but I just can’t get myself to work.
Yeah, I’m a second year, so I know about Harper Tutors and stuff. I’m not really struggling academically. I wouldn’t say I’m depressed, just stressed and really tired of work.
I try to take breaks and I sleep and eat and stuff. I don’t know what’s going on.
I don’t really think I need to see a therapist. Yeah I might be interested in other mental health resources on campus, sure. Which ones would you recommend?
Thanks, I’ll check those out. I don’t know if it’s burnout. I just think I’m lazy. All my friends are working all the time and are so much more productive than me.
Some of them are double majors, or work part time, or do cool extracurriculars. I’m just an EALC major, I don’t work or really do any clubs, I don’t really know what I’m doing with my life lol I just think it’s a cool major. I’m not sure what I’m gonna do once I graduate.
I guess. Maybe I should just focus on doing my best. It’s just so easy to feel like I’m falling behind all the time especially because I keep avoiding work even though I have so much to get done. Sometimes it’s just so overwhelming. I know I should be doing the work, but most of the time I just don’t.
I like learning, just not doing homework haha. I know I’m a bad student.
Yeah… Just wondering, what year/major are you?
Oh, ok. Did you ever apply for internships or know about applying to internships?
I feel kind of bad, because I don’t want to waste my parents’ money… but I don’t know what to do with my life and don’t really want to major in anything else. So I feel like I really need to get an internship next summer.
My dad definitely doesn’t like that I’m not a STEM major… and he’s right that I’d have an easier time finding a job, but STEM just isn’t my thing. I’ve always really liked languages.
Thanks. I’ve actually been wondering about finding a part-time job on campus. Maybe it’d help me figure out what career I might like.
Do you think I should switch majors? I like EALC but am just really worried I’m making a huge mistake.
Ok. Thanks. I’ll think about it.
I guess I could try looking at minors too. This is stupid, but I never thought about it before lol.
I’m just kind of scared, I just wish I could figure this all out, and that my motivation would come back. But I think I’m ok for now.
Thanks for talking to me :) Bye!
