My eyes adjusted and I saw my nemesis. A huge centipede with lasers for legs towered above me. I felt like my legs had turned to jelly, but I searched my soul and found steel within it.

"Who are you?" I asked. "I'm Detective Merlin," answered the crime-fighting wizard. "I'm a crime-fighting wizard from a parallel universe. I need to get back to the multiple choice answers, where I used to live, instead of the main question, where I've been transported. Therefore, I'm going to quickly cast a spell." He raised his wand, but was interrupted by my classmates who were sprinting at the wizard, roaring, their faces contorted.

Hi, I'm Detective Merlin. I'm a crime-fighting wizard, and the main character of this story. I got transported to a strange, futuristic school, but I guess I'm stuck here now. I tried casting a spell to get me back to my own universe, but it didn't work. I wonder where that kid went?
