Ennis and Yoni
Disappointing ends to really promising teams the last two seasons (Championship loss, missed playoffs with 2nd points for) left Ennis and Yoni’s expectations sky high for this season. Top spots in early power rankings and a promising roster never materialized how Ennis and Yoni wanted. A real shame of a lost season everyone is looking to forget. Is Ennis, like this team's star, a distraction in the locker room for missing the offseason workouts (aka the draft) to take intoxicating substances and party? Who’s to say.
Lent
Points, points, points. Lent has a high-flying offense and no defense to be found. Some rough early losses put the season in jeopardy, but thanks to a newly added Superstar WR and an unproven QB who’s found his confidence, playoffs seem like a lock at this point. Only difference is this team actually had to give up some real compensation for their stud WR, and people actually sorta root for this team and want to see them succeed.
Freud
After years of hearing how good Freud was in his “other” league, we finally get to see it in action. Sure, he’s had a wild card appearance here or there over the past few seasons (5th place in 2020, I think?), but now we finally get to see Freud as a real juggernaut. But is Frued elite? Despite being at the top of the standings all year, fantasypros seems to think there are 4 better teams in the league. Can Freud prove the h8rz wrong and bring a title to his insane fan base?
Siegel
Siegel’s been a playoff contender for the past couple seasons, but for some reason this year felt different. 12th in Freud’s power rankings to start the season, and it didn’t really get better from there. There have been serious questions to the coaching/decision-making and way too many off the field issues for Siegel. Sure, the star power was there, but just something about the team never clicked. Maybe too much Call of Duty?
Benji
Juggernaut, no way around it. Led by an elite QB and TE, and a handful of other young names gaining speed as the season progresses. The RB handcuff strategy pays off big time. Odds on favorite to win the title IMO, and I don’t think it's particularly close. Late loss to a solid team puts the bye at risk, it’ll be pretty huge to see if Benji, like this team, can get it back. Bye or no Bye, this is my title pick.
Eli
Questionable personnel decisions? Check. Coaching we all love to shit on? Check. Yet here we are, again. Eli wins with bad players, backups, good players, doesn’t matter. Big difference is Eli’s actually won some playoff games and gotten over the hump.
Goldstein
Does Goldstein have any good players? I guess he’s got a good RB and a couple WR3’s. But, like this team, despite being devoid of high end talent, Goldstein is somehow fighting for a wild card berth. Some will say this team is just making the playoffs by default in a bad league, but you can’t argue with a good first year coaching bump. Hard to view Goldstein as a real contender against some of the stronger teams, but also hard to judge this season as anything but a promising first year.
Max
Max has the big names, and a good roster on paper, but something just hasn’t clicked this year. Despite the disappointing year, it seems at least decently likely that Max will make the playoffs with a ~.500 record. Tough to not be nervous facing so many players who were dominant in previous fantasy seasons, but feels like Max, like this team, is a few steps behind the real contenders. Maybe Max’s move out of his house has really taken a toll on his performance on the field.
Saadia
What a fall from grace. One of the top teams over the last few years, but just nothing happening now. A once high flying offense now bottom 3 in the league. Being riddled with injuries certainly doesn’t help, but he never really took off regardless. No one can be good every year, it happens to the best of teams.
Sammy B
Yikes. Disaster season from the start for Sammy. Hard to find any silver lining. Historically bad offense. Just like Sammy has been given every opportunity to get in the league’s good graces by submitting some punishments, this team’s “star” qb has had every chance to get in the league’s good graces by having 1 good performance, or doing 1 non-cringeworthy interview.
Zolty
Not a ton to say about Zolty’s team. Good team. Going to make the playoffs. Not all that exciting, but solid from top to bottom. Traded away an offensive stud and doesn’t seem to make any difference. Still just a solid team.
Zach
Nothing super notable about Zach’s season either. A WR trade didn’t save him, but it's not like he was going to make the playoffs if he kept Hill anyway. A consolation for Zach and this team is that they at least (maybe?) have a solid young QB to work around. A shocking difference between Zach and this team - this team is on the verge of breaking a historing above-.500 streak, while Zach (despite making the playoffs 3 times!) has yet to record a .500 record in this league’s history.
