If the structure is fixed and built into foundations it would be insured under Home Insurance. If the structure is relocatable we will insure it under Contents.
Will we cover Meth damage in a Home policy if there is forced entry?
Yes, it would be wrong to penalise our customer if they've taken reasonable care securing their home.
No, there is no cover for Meth contamination on owner occupied Homes. There is a specific exclusion on page 22.
If a customer is renovating a Landlord property and it will be unoccupied for more than 60 days does the limited cover for Landlord occupancy reduce the cover available under the new building work benefit?
Yes, if the Rental is unoccupied for more than 60 days the reduced cover will also apply to the 'Cover for new building work' benefit.
No, the customer will only have to pay an additional excess at Claim time. They won't have their cover reduced to loss by fire, lightning, explosion, storm, flood or natural disaster.
Does EQC consider Floods to be a 'Natural Disaster'?
Yes, as long as it is deemed a natural disaster by EQC the benefit will apply.
No, the defintion for natural disaster on the EQC website does not include flood. This means the EQC excess does not apply for flood claims. AA Insurance cover would apply as normal under the policy.
If a Grandsons Contents are kept at his Grandmothers house will we extend cover?
No, cover is only extended to family members or dependents who normally live with the customer.
Yes as long as they meet the definition of immediate family.
If a customer is renovating a Landlord property and it will be unoccupied for more than 60 days does the limited cover for Landlord occupancy reduce the cover available under the new building work benefit?
