WHAT KIND OF COACH/ TRAINER ARE YOU?

What type of cues do you give your athletes to improve form?
Verbal - I talk them through it before hand and then reminders if needed
Tactile - (I always ask first) I will use hands or tapping on certain areas to get them to adjust their position
Demonstration - I show them the proper technique
A bit of each, mainly I give them a good job and encouragement to push harder
Your client/athlete says, "my back hurts with deadlifts. Can we do something else?" How do you explain pain to your client?
No pain no gain, deadlifts are a great exercise for back pain
Are you sure it is pain or are you sore?
Pain is a brain warning signal, let's check this out deeper.
You need to see a PT, Chiro, or MD before you can come back and train
Your athlete lacks overhead range of motion and occasionally has shoulder pain, how do you modify a workout with high volume strict press?
I do not. The athlete is not painful today so they are clear for the workout
I take the weight off and have them use light weight barbell or dumbbells
I give them overhead stretches to work on and give them a running workout to do
I change the workout to a horizontal press with added overhead mobility before and after the workout
Your athlete has poor squat form and reports tight ankles, hips, back, and hamstrings. How would you program supplemental work for this athlete?
I would give them 5 stretches to perform 1-2 min holds every day
I would offer them additional coaching sessions for a discount rate or 1:1 sessions if they are in group setting
I would offer them individualized mobility training in an app based on a movement screen
I would tell them to google or IG stretches to improve your squat and perform those on off days
