Apart from low speed limits and blatant revenue raising, what other Road Safety issues do you believe are the do-gooders / our governments getting wrong?

Lack of driver education. We need a German-style system with 30+ mandatory lessons by professionals, and advanced driver education. A driver’s license should be a privilege, not a right.

Penalties for mobile phone use too low. We need far higher fines and greater punishment for using a phone while driving.

Speed cameras should only be used in black-spots with high accident rates and places like school zones etc

Lack of attention on lane hoggers (otherwise known as morons). The “Keep Left” rule should be heavily enforced with far higher penalties. Repeat offenders should lose their license similarly to drink-drivers.

Which of these do you think apply to the do-gooders / our governments?

Too soft on crime (specifically involving violence). We need far tougher sentences.

Too hard on crime (specifically involving violence). We need more investment in rehabilitation.

Too soft on illegal drugs. We need a Singapore-style approach instead.

Too hard on illegal drugs. We need to decriminalize drug-use and make it a health issue.

Too soft on gun restrictions. eg. Guns should be almost entirely removed from civilians (with some exceptions like farmers etc)

Too hard on gun restrictions. eg. Self defence should be included as a legitimate reason to own / use a firearm.
