SDRs making changes related to a modification previously released with an SSM can often use the same CCD and SRM that were used for the original modification.

Use SDRs to deliver limited-scope changes to previously issued SSDs, new/revised documentation, or change pages for non-modification releases. The SDR is used to deliver new TI documents or change pages to TIs or SSDs.

When a previously issued SSD requires a change due to a minimal administrative error or omission, an SDR is issued.

The appropriate configuration control board (CCB) must approve a configuration control decision (CCD) prior to release.

When editing an SSM, remember that paragraphs 2 and the footer should explain who is receiving the SSM, and paragraphs 6, 12 and 24 work together to describe who is performing the mod, and at which sites.

When issuing a Maintenance Handbook Page Change the DMS document record is created at the Release- Print Prep Review state.

NAS Technical documentation is not currently required to follow the STE standard; however, it is recommended to apply STE-approved verbs when writing and editing technical documentation.

When printing a Maintenance Handbook the cover page will be white or buff stock paper and a Technical Instruction book cover page will be blue.
