2017 - SCM Workbench _Setup Video

Software Change Management (SCM) is workflow and configuration management tool for Managing Technical Documentation(MTD), Safety Risk Management (SRM), Letter of Authorization (LOA) and HR Training requests.

SCM Workbench is used as a software and documentation configuration management tool for many other purposes such as process management and version control of electronic files.

New employees should contact one of the SCM administrators to obtain an SCM account. After an SCM account has been created the employee can go to the NASE homepage to download the SCM Workbench application.

In the Explorer tree under preferences the only three recommended settings to be checked are: 1) Show files in tree 2) Refresh entire tree on explicit refresh and 3) Refresh Project level package Groups on checkout and checkin.

The three general preferences that should be checked is: 1) Never run in background 2) Keep next/previous editor, view and perspectives dialog open and 3) Under Open mode double click should be chosen.

SCM users can filter which environments to show in the SCM explorer window by clicking on the SCMprod broker and click the filter icon.

For SCM processes as an Originator, Publisher, Section Manager or Team Manager in the MTD environment refer to the training videos on the Nudge.

If a user’s workspace is blank when opening SCM, a new broker connection needs to be set up by calling your SCM administrators.

To reset a SCM workbench password the user will need to contact the SCM administrator.
