What does "integrated healthcare" integrate (or "bring together")? Choose one.
Multiple kinds of patients in the same building
Primary care doctors with specialty care doctors in the same building
Behavioral health care with other approaches to health care
Multiple people's ideas for how a patient is treated
Answer:
Integrated Healthcare brings behavioral health into the definition of health care.

Like putting together both halves of a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich, when health care is fully integrated, there's really no telling where the jelly—I mean, the medical part—ends, and where the behavioral health part begins.

You no longer have a medical team and a behavioral health care team: you have a Healthcare Team that is focused on your behavioral health needs right alongside your medical or other needs…and sees them all as aspects of the same whole.
We call this Whole-Person Care.

If Hope already has a behavioral health department on site (we do), why does integrating matter?
It saves money.
It makes Hope look good to potential donors.
We don't need to hire as many staff members
It's where we sense God is calling us next.
Answer:
we feel God is calling us to provide the best care possible, as though we were serving God, not people.

Simply speaking: we can do better, and because we do this in Jesus' name...we should.

It really comes down to the way we define health, which is:
a state of complete physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

If we believe that true health is physical, mental, spiritual, and social, it means that we aren't really providing true health care if we do not address all of those things, every single time.

Having different teams on-site is a great start, but providing an entirely different healthcare ethos is where we're headed.

Any client or patient
Medical patients
Dental patients
Food guests
Behavioral Health patients
No one yet
Answer:
Today, just Medical patients. Hope Clinic is ranked at about 3 out of 5 for integration. We're still in process!

Our medical clinic has achieved full integration—we have a Behavioral Health Consultant working in the medical clinic to provide screenings in each appointment, immediate triage as needed, resources, and referrals.

The next steps of integration will be funded through our $5.5M Hope For Tomorrow capital campaign.

Through the partnership of generous donors who believe that the uninsured deserve the very best in health care, at the completion of its first year the campaign is already over 80% funded.

When completed, the campaign will double the number of patients Hope Clinic serves by 2025.
