Student is currently tier 2. They have been exposed to interventions for 8 weeks. Upon further testing, the data gathered depicts the student made no growth. What should be the next step?
Give the intervention more time.
Refer to problem solving team and let them determine the next steps.
Gather all student data, determine why intervention is not working, consider next steps and refer to the problem solving team.
Swithc the intervention
You are scheduled to meet with the problem solving team about specific tiered students. What should you bring to the meeting?
Attendance trackers, NSGRA/ORF data, student work samples, parent conference notes
Just bring computer, the problem solving team will have all the data.
I have a good feeling on what is wrong with the student. I'll email or provide informaiton at later time.
Are you allowed to reteach/re-access students and update grades to reflect proficiency/mastery?
Yes, I give my students a 2nd attempt on the same tests/quizzes immediately. If they demonstrate proficiency/mastery I would normally update their grades to reflect their learning.
Yes, after I reteach and gather formative data, I always allow my students to demonstrate proficiency/mastery on a new assessment.
Yes, but I wont change their grades. I feel that is not fair to the students who passed the 1st time.
